What to expect from a 17mm mini sclera
A mini sclera is bigger than a normal coloured lens. That is what makes the look, and it is also what first-timers ask about most.
Coverage
Iris plus a ring of whiteCovers the coloured part of your eye and about 1.5mm of white around it. Some white still shows at the corners when you look sideways. For none at all, that is the 22mm full sclera.
Vision
You can seeThe pupil is cut out, so looking straight ahead is normal. Side vision is reduced. Do not drive, ride or do anything that needs your full field of view.
Comfort and first wear
Build up to itBigger than a standard 14mm lens, so you feel it for the first few minutes. Start with an hour at home, then longer. Eight hours is the daily limit.

Everything you need, one tap
Lens, case and solution together. Anything longer than a 1 Day pair needs both.

Pick how long the pair lasts
The lens is the same in every option. The wear length is how long the pair stays good after you first open the vial, as long as you clean and store it in fresh solution. *Cost a day assumes daily use over the wear length, 8 hours maximum.

Putting a 17mm lens in takes a bit of practice
Most people get it on the third or fourth try. Practise the day before the event, not on the night. Printed instructions come in the box.
Wash and dry your hands
Soap, rinse, and a lint-free towel. Open the vial and tip the lens into your palm with a little fresh solution.
Check it is a bowl, not a saucer
Sit the lens on your fingertip. Edges curving up means it is the right way round. Edges flaring out means flip it.
Look up, place, blink slowly
Hold both lids open wide, look up, set the lens on the white of the eye and let go. Close your eye and roll it gently. A 17mm lens needs the lids wider than a normal lens does.

Before you buy
Can I see through a black mini sclera?
Yes. The pupil is clear, so you see straight ahead normally. Vision to the sides is reduced because the black covers more of the eye. Do not drive or ride in them.
Is a 17mm lens hard to put in?
Harder than a normal lens, not hard. You need to hold both lids open wider and let the lens settle rather than pushing it. Most people manage it on the third or fourth go. Practise the day before your event.
Do I need a prescription?
No. These are plano, meaning zero power, so they change the look only. We do not sell powered lenses, so if you need vision correction they will not replace your regular contacts.
How long can I wear them in a day?
Up to 8 hours. Take them out before sleep every time, whatever wear length you bought. If an eye goes red or sore, take the lens out and leave it out.
What is the difference between 1 Month and 1 Year?
The lens is the same. The wear length is how long the pair stays safe to use after you open the vial, with cleaning and proper storage. A 1 Year pair works out to about 15 cents a day worn daily.
Will they arrive before Halloween?
Yes if you order by Monday 20 October, by any shipping method. From then until 1pm on Sunday 26 October, choose Express. After that, Click and Collect from our Melbourne warehouse is the safe option. We dispatch from Melbourne, same day on weekday orders.
Does it come with a case and solution?
The 1 Year option includes a lens case. Every other option is the lens pair only, and you need a case and multipurpose solution from your first wear. Use the kit button above to add them with the lens.
